A survey conducted in Italy in August 2019, concurrently with the beginning of the government crisis revealed that 37.3 percent of voters were willing to exert a tactical vote in favor of Lega Nord if the political parties did not reach an agreement on a coalition in order to govern. This means that a significant share of voters would choose a given candidate or party that does not represent their first preference only to avoid a harmful result. Furthermore, 26.9 percent of respondents stated that their strategic vote would go in favor of Partito Democratico (PD). On the contrary, 14 percent of population entitled to vote stated to categorically refuse strategic voting.
If no coalition was formed to overcome the current government crisis would you exert tactical voting?
