Ease of doing business score India by state 2017
As per the Business Reform Action Plan implemented by India's Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Andhra Pradesh ranked first in the ease of doing business index with a total score of 98.3 percent on various indicators. The southern state of Telangana came second in the ranking, following Haryana that year.
Andhra Pradesh government implemented reforms in 368 out of the 372 areas of reforms listed by the government including issues such as taxes, protection of minority investors, and construction permits. This was a major factor enabling it to be the most successful business state for two consecutive years since 2016, ahead of other well-established industrial states like Maharashtra and Gujarat in the country.
