Preferred government system for the own region in Flanders 2019
Currently, Belgium is a federal state, in which the three regions Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital Region each have their own government. The majority of respondents in Flanders taking part in this survey were satisfied with this solution, as over 55 percent stated this was their preferred government system for their region. 13.2 percent was in favor of a unitary state (without regional governments), and just over 17 percent would prefer to see independent regions which decide among themselves which responsibilities should remain joined.
