The Chinese athletics team won 262 gold medals at the Summer Olympics as of 2021 and 22 at the Winter Games as of 2022. To boost sports performance, the Chinese government implements different policies to develop sports infrastructures and provides strong financial support to the athletic team. These measures have brought more Olympic medals to the country. While China has made to the top three medal winners at the Summer Olympics, the government has planned to improve its performance at the Winter Olympics.
