The Peruvian department of Moquegua had the highest public spending in university education per student in Peru in 2019. On average, the government spent almost 35,500 Peruvian soles per university student in Moquegua. In the country's capital, the metropolitan area of Lima, the average expenditure per university student amounted to 13,300 soles in the same year.
