The happiness level in Belgium oscillated between 70 and 80 percent from 2011 to 2019, according to a survey conducted by Ipsos. 80 percent of people declared being happy in 2011, 2013 and 2019, therefore shaping a benchmark of happiness for the country.
In 2017 and 2019, happiness levels fell to around 70 percent. However, after the initial drop, the percentage of happy people came back to 80 percent in 2018. Thus, raising the question of a possible rise back to 80 percent in 2020. Overall, most Belgians declared being happy from 2011 to 2019.
