Global: asset allocation of UHNWI and HNWI 2023

As of 2022, alternative investment securities were the most popular asset type among ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWI) worldwide. Equities accounted for the largest portion of asset allocation among high net worth individuals (HNWI). Fixed-income securities were also popular among both parties, accounting for 15 percent of UHNWIs` and 33 percent of HNWIs' asset allocation.

High net-worth investors (HNWI) typically have liquid financial assets of at least one million U.S. dollars. Very high net-worth individuals (UHNWI) have at least five million U.S. dollars in liquid assets. To be classified as ultra-high net worth, you need at least 30 million U.S. dollars available to invest.
