YoY change in number of private cars registered in Delhi 1989-2021
In 2021, approximately 73 thousand private cars more than the previous year were registered in Delhi, India. This took the total number of cars in the nation's capital to more than 3.3 million. The exponential increase in the number of private vehicles and the consequent emissions had contributed to making the air quality in Delhi very poor in recent years.
