Belief that the government should be responsible for young people New Zealand 2019

In a survey conducted in New Zealand in 2019, regarding whether or not the New Zealand government should take more responsibility for the care of young people and children, 32 percent of the respondents agreed with the main statement, that the government should take more responsibility. Contrastingly, five percent of the respondents strongly disagreed with the statement. The New Zealand government has schemes set in place aimed at supporting young people in need. One such program is the establishment of youth benefits, which offers financial aid to 16 and 17 year old people who do not live with their parents, and have no other financial support.
