Cuba: number of schools 2014-2021
In the academic year 2020/2021, the number of schools in Cuba amounted to 10,589, up from 10,626 a year before. Since the beginning of the displayed period, this is the first decrease regarding the number of schools in the Caribbean country. Education in the country is mandatory for children between the age of six and 15 years, this includes pupils in elementary and lower secondary education. Further, the number of higher education institutions in Cuba has remained the same in recent years.
