On-the-spot aiding underage driving prosecutions by Delhi traffic police 2014-2021
In 2021, the number of on-the-spot prosecutions for allowing an underage person to drive made by the Delhi traffic police in India was around 18 thousand. That year, two-wheelers had the highest number of traffic violations across the capital city. In 2021, over 40 percent of the victims killed in road accidents in Delhi, were pedestrians. Lack of foot-over bridges, pedestrian crossings and lax road safety rules could be the reasons for such accidents.
