The total number of tennis clubs across all European countries in 2018
This statistic presents the total number of tennis clubs, within each of the 50 member nations of Tennis Europe.
The 50 member nations are classified by Tennis Europe into three statuses: 'A', 'B', and 'C'. The group of 10 'A' nations includes the nations that have traditionally had the largest numbers of tennis participants. The 'B' nations are comprised of countries with a fairly sophisticated tennis infrastructure but smaller total population size than the countries in the group of 'A' nations whereas the 'C' nations are typically small or emerging states.
Unsurprisingly, Tennis Europe's 'A' nations dominate the sport in Europe, containing the vast majority of tennis clubs. The country with the greatest total number of tennis clubs in 2018 was Germany with over 9097 clubs, accounting for over 23.6 percent of all tennis clubs in Europe.
