Average number of dangerous heat days in U.S. cities 2000 to 2050
By 2050, it is expected that U.S. cities will experience an average of 58 dangerous heat days each year. For some cities, such as those in warmer climate regions in the South, the number will be even greater. The prediction is based on the warming that 133 cities in the United States will experience due to increased greenhouse gas emissions. The United States has some of the highest rates of greenhouse gas emissions in the world.
