Positive views on automobile dashboard cameras in South Korea 2019
According to a survey in South Korea in 2019, the absolute majority of respondents agreed that dashboard cameras mounted in automobiles, called "black boxes" in Korea, deterred hit-and-run drivers from bolting and helped to prevent traffic crimes, with over 92 percent showing agreement with both statements. Slightly lower shares of respondents agreed that cameras also protected drivers themselves from being taken advantage of in case accidents occurred.
