During the influenza season of 2021-2022, the number of deaths reported in Mexico amounted to 20, up from only one death due to the respiratory disease registered a season before. The highest number of deaths due to influenza in the North American country reached over one thousand in the 2013-2014 season. As of March 2021, the number of cases in the country added up to three.
