South America: biofuels production 2016-2018, by country

Biofuels production in Brazil amounted to approximately 21.38 million metric tons of oil equivalent in 2018, an increase of 14.7 percent in comparison to the previous year. In Colombia, biofuels production increased from 592 thousand tons of oil equivalent in 2017 to 692 tons in the following year. In contrast, in the same period, Argentina saw a decrease in production, reaching 2.73 million tons in 2018, down from 3.1 million tons a year earlier.
