Leading FAME biodiesel producing country/region 2019-2021
The European Union is the largest FAME biodiesel producing market worldwide. In 2021, the EU reported a production of around 9.92 million metric tons. Indonesia and the United States followed, ranking second and third, with a production volume of 8.2 and 5.5 million metric tons, respectively. In 2021, the EU was also the leading HVO biodiesel producer worldwide.
