In 2019, 95 percent of Malay-Muslims surveyed in Malaysia stated that they typically visited Malay restaurants when they broke their fast out of home during Ramadan of 2019. During the month of Ramadan, observant Muslims abstain from food, drink, and sexual activities from sun rise to sun set.
