In fiscal year 2021, the manufacturing industry accounted for the highest amount of energy-related carbon dioxide emissions among a range of compared sectors in Japan, with emissions reaching a value of approximately 347 metric tons of CO2. That year, the carbon dioxide emissions of most of the sectors in the country increased compared to the previous fiscal year.
