Average number of trips per day in the U.S. by distance 2020-2021
Stay-at-home orders in many U.S. federal states were lifted at the end of May 2020, and mobility among Americans began to bounce back in June before dipping again in December. By December 2021, travel was recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic. Trips above 500 miles were conducted on about 1.25 million occasions, above pre-lockdown level.
