EBIT and EBITDA margins of selected telecommunications companies 2020
The difference between the EBIT margin and the EBITDA margin is relatively high among the world's largest telecommunications companies. Deutsche Telekom AG, for example, has an EBIT margin of 12.5 percent, while the EBITDA reached 37.2 percent in 2020. This is largely due to the fact telecommunications companies that own and operate telecommunications equipment tend to hold a large base of high-value fixed assets, in the form of telecommunications infrastructure, sites, and facilities, and these assets are subject to high rates of depreciation.
