Japan: overseas construction order value 2021

In the fiscal year 2021, construction companies in Japan signed overseas construction contracts worth 1.79 trillion Japanese yen, up from 1.11 trillion yen in the previous year. Construction projects in Asia accounted for the largest share of overseas construction projects that year.

The statistic shows the accumulated value of overseas construction contracts signed by the 51 members of the Overseas Construction Association of Japan, Inc. for the respective year.
The figures include projects of 10 million Japanese yen or more per contract.
Excluding contracts between member companies (including overseas companies) and between Japanese member companies and their overseas subsidiaries (duplicated figures due to general contracting and subcontracting). Regarding joint-venture projects, figures are based on the companies' share of equity investment.
