The tax revenue generated by spending on business travel in the United States rose gradually from 2013 to 2019. As of 2019, the tax contribution of general business travel amounted to 32 billion U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, the tax revenue from the Meetings, Events & Incentive sector reached 23.1 billion U.S. dollars.
