Residential heating fuel share in Washington 2020, by type
Electricity is the most common residential heating fuel type in Washington state. In 2020, some 56.2 percent of occupied housing units relied on electricity for heating. Utility gas was the second most used house heating fuel type. Both fuels combined accounted for over 90 percent of Washington's residential heating.
