Opinion on births outside of marriage Japan 2020, by age
According to a survey conducted in April 2020, close to 59 percent of respondents in Japan aged 30 to 39 years agreed to some extent that it is O.K. to have children without getting married. About 50 percent of respondents aged between 15 to 19 revealed a positive attitude toward births outside of marriage, the lowest share among surveyed age cohorts.
