Japan: opinion of women on reasons of fertility decline 2020

According to a survey conducted in January 2020, around 70.3 percent of employed women believed that the cause of fertility decline was the shortage of jobs that can be managed together with child-rearing. Close to 70 percent stated that the financial burden of raising a child could be the cause of ongoing fertility decline.
