Year-on-year decline in occupancy rate in Indian hotels FY 2021, by hotel type

In financial year 2021, the occupancy rate in economy hotels in India declined by 55 percent from the previous year. The rate in midscale hotels declined by 44 percent. This decline in occupancy rates in hotels was due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
