In 2020, the import of machinery and mechanical appliances into South Africa amounted to an approximate value of nine billion U.S. dollars. This was a decrease in value in comparison to the preceding year when roughly 1.11 billion U.S. dollars of the products were imported. Furthermore, China was one of the main trade partners of South Africa concerning machinery and mechanical appliance imports with a share of nearly 33 percent.
