In 2021, the Indonesian Social Security Administrator for Health, or BPJS Kesehatan, recorded about 152 million visits from beneficiaries to public health centers (puskesmas), private doctors or primary clinics. The Indonesian National Health Insurance, or JKN, is a program initiated by the Indonesian government to ensure that every Indonesian citizen gets a financial assurance whenever they need health care services.
