Share of the French who could use cup as menstrual protection 2021, by degree level

While the Minister of Higher Education has decided to install menstrual protection dispensers in universities for the start of the academic year 2021, menstruation has recently been highlighted in the media and politics. It is in this context that the source wanted to know more about the uses of menstruating people in terms of sanitary protection. Yet, it appears that, although new types of menstrual protection have appeared in recent years, such as the cup, period panties, or washable protection, they are still used relatively rarely. In 2021, less than a quarter of people who had completed the Baccalauréat said they could use the cup as menstrual protection. In contrast, this proportion rose to 43 percent among those without a degree.
