Difficulty affording select health care costs among U.S. workers with ESI in 2018
In 2018, a quarter of respondents with employer-sponsored health insurance said they had difficulty affording medical bills before meeting their plan's deductible. Some 1 in 10 workers had difficulty affording their monthly health insurance premium (or the employee contribution). Overall, 4 in 10 respondents had trouble affording health care. This statistic represents the percentage of workers with employer-sponsored healht insurance in the U.S. who reported difficulty affording select health care or insurance costs as of 2018.
