Risk of eviction for renters that are behind on rent in the U.S. 2022-2023
The risk for eviction in the next two months was a possible reality for many renters that were behind on rental payments in the United States. About 2.1 million renters reported that they were very likely or somewhat likely to be evicted in June 2023. Nevertheless, this figure was higher in the same period the previous year, when close to 3.5 million renters feared eviction. Among all renters, most were confident that they would be able to pay the next month’s rent.
