Africa: agricultural investment from China

Between 1987 and 2017, the reported size of Chinese agricultural investment in land in Africa was drastically higher than the actual land acquired by Chinese institutions. The largest size reported amounted to 6.05 million hectares of land, while the actual land acquired amounted to 252.9 thousand hectares.
