Approximately 46 billion U.S. dollars of Islamic fund assets were located in Gulf Cooperation Council countries, closely followed by South East Asian countries which held 41.9 billion U.S. dollars of assets. The "other" region was the next largest with just over 30 billion, which notably includes a large share of assets of Islamic funds held in countries like Luxembourg and the United States.
