
Income between top 10 and bottom 50 percent share in India 2010-2021
As of 2021, the top 10 percent of the Indian population in terms of pre-tax income was estimated to generate an aggregate income of 1.17 million Indian rupees, whereas the bottom 50 percent only earned around 53 thousand Indian rupees. In general, the income gap between the top 10 percent and the bottom 50 percent population groups has gradually been growing since the 1950s.
