Share of final energy consumption in West Africa 2018, by sector
In West Africa, households accounted for 70 percent of the final energy consumed as of 2018, representing the largest share of consumption in the region. To follow, transport made up 18 percent of the energy consumption, while a share of around six percent was reached by manufacturing, construction, and mining activities. Energy used for agricultural purposes represented only 1.1 percent of the total.
