Share of green bonds issued in emerging markets by region

In 2021, among emerging markets, China was by far the dominant country in terms of green bond issuance, accounting for 68 percent of the total. Both Latin America and the Carribean (LAC) and Europe and Central Asia (ECA) accounted for ten percent. Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) accounted for only one percent of green bonds issued in emerging markets in 2021.
