Over the next 30 years, the number of buildings facing risk of flood damage in the United States is expected to increase, at least partially as a result of climate change and its effects. In Virginia, the number of office, retail, and multi-unit residential buildings at risk is expected to grow by 26.5 percent between 2022 and 2052, while in Florida, this figure is expected to grow by 21.8 percent.
