Number of people employed in tourism in South Africa 2019, by population group
The number of people employed in the tourism industry in South Africa was close to 2.9 million in 2019. The majority of employees in the industry were Black Africans, with around 2.2 million individuals. Notably, this represented 75.1 percent of the employment in tourism. Colored and White people followed with around 300.3 thousand and 282.7 thousand tourism workers, respectively.
