Direct and indirect value added of tourism in Austria 2000-2022
The direct and indirect value added of tourism in Austria was expected to increase significantly in 2022 compared to the first two years of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, while remaining slightly below pre-pandemic levels. After dropping to under 15 billion euros in 2021, the direct and indirect value added of tourism in the country was estimated to bounce back to nearly 28 billion euros in 2022.
