U.S. preferred online food and grocery suppliers 2021

In 2021, big-box retailers were the most popular suppliers of online food groceries in the United States, a survey revealed. While almost eight in ten respondents would opt for retailers like Costco or Walmart, 31 percent of U.S. consumers surveyed would prefer to buy groceries online from discount grocers like Aldi or Food4Less. When it came to online grocery shopping, the preference rate for third-party platforms like Instacart or Postmates amounted to 27 percent, three percentage points higher than high-end grocers like Wholefoods or Erewhon.
