Share of consumers who bought food and groceries online in Norway 2018, by age group Norwegians aged between 35 and 44 were the most active online buyers of food and groceries in 2018. A survey conducted that year found that 24 percent of respondents of that age group and 22 percent of respondents aged between 25 and 34 bought groceries via the internet. Online grocery shopping was more popular among women in the last few years. To be precise, the share of female shoppers grew from five percent in 2013 to 15 percent as of 2018. Similarly, the share of male food online shoppers increased from five percent in 2013 to 12 percent in 2018.
 What else do Norwegians buy online? 

     Compared to other categories, groceries stood low in the ranking of online purchases in Norway in 2018 (purchased by ten percent of respondents). Clothes and shoes led in the list with 36 percent of respondents purchasing this online. Furthermore, 25 percent of Norwegians purchased home electronics and another 25 percent purchased media products online.

 E-commerce in the Nordic countries 

     Among the Nordic countries, online shopping was most popular in Sweden , where 68 percent of the respondents reported to have purchased goods online in 2018. Norway came second in the list with 66 percent of respondents. Denmark and Finland had 62 percent and 48 percent of people who shopped online, respectively.
