Share of consumers who bought food and groceries online in Norway 2023, by age group

Norwegians aged between 25 and 34 were the most active online buyers of food and groceries in 2023. A survey conducted that year found that around 67 percent of respondents of that age group bought groceries via the internet.

 What else do Norwegians buy online? 

Data from 2021 showed that, compared to other categories, groceries stood low in the ranking of online purchases in Norway. Clothes and shoes led in the list with 34 percent of respondents purchasing this online, followed by body and health products.

 E-commerce in the Nordic countries 

Among the Nordic countries, online shopping was most popular in Sweden , where 94 percent of the respondents reported to have purchased goods online in 2020. Finland came second in the list with 93 percent of respondents, while Norway and Denmark had 89 percent and 83 percent of people who shopped online, respectively.
