Value of equity funding deals in Africa 2016-2021
In 2021, the value of equity funding deals closed in Africa amounted to around 2.7 billion U.S. dollars. This represented a peak since 2016 and a significant increment compared to 2020. That year, equity funding deployed into startups headquartered in Africa added up to 773 million U.S. dollars. In the same period, the number of deals increased annually.
