An economy’s total early-stage entrepreneurial activity (TEA) rate is defined as the prevalence rate of individuals in the working age population who are actively involved in business startups, either in the phase in advance of the birth of the firm (nascent entrepreneurs), or the phase spanning 42 months after the birth of the firm (owner managers of new firms). In 2019, the early-stage entrepreneurial activity (TEA) rate in Italy was 2.8 percent.
