Services most used to send remittances to Kenya 2021
Mobile money operators and money transfer companies were the services most used by Kenyans living abroad to send money home in 2021. According to the survey, 32 percent of respondents used mobile money operators to send cash to recipients in Kenya, while 31 percent adopted money transfer companies. Another 22 percent of respondents used banks when sending remittances. Kenyans living abroad sent home around 3.7 billion U.S. dollars in remittances as of 2021.
