Deaths of migrants crossing Africa 2021, by origin

The majority of immigrants who died while crossing the African continent came from the Horn of Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Between January and August 2021, 92 people from Sub-Saharan Africa died on African migration routes, while 167 are presumed to be from this region. Other 96 migrants who lost their life originated or were presumed to originate from the Horn of Africa.
