Among all age groups, employment rates were lower among refugees residing in Sweden than among the country's foreign-born and Swedish-born population. It was highest among people between 35 and 44 years of age, reaching 66.1 percent among refugees. Unsurprisingly, it was lowest among youth from 20 to 24 years, where it was only 48 percent among refugees in 2019. Employment rates were higher among male than among female refugees.
