Coal power production share in Europe 2000-2021

Coal accounted for 14 percent of Europe's electricity generation in 2021, a slight increase from the previous year. Nonetheless, in the period of consideration, figures presented a trend of decline. Between 2000 and 2020, the coal share in electricity production in Europe decreased from the peak at 27.6 percent to the record low at 12.8 percent.
