EU: largest operational coal power plants 2021

Belchatow power station in Poland is the largest coal power plant operating in the 27 European Union member states. In 2021, it had a capacity of 4.2 gigawatts. Neurath power station in Germany ranked second, with a capacity of 4.1 gigawatts. Six out of the ten largest coal power plants in the EU are located in Germany.
