Domestic tourism spending in Malta 2016-2021
The total expenditure of domestic travelers in Malta was significantly higher during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic compared to the previous year. In 2021, domestic spending peaked at roughly 80 million euros, rising from over 59 million euros in 2020. Meanwhile, the number of domestic tourists in Malta recorded a eight percent annual increase in 2021.
